It's been a busy weekend at Week Parks, with some lovely weather and visitors in the cottage (more of that later). Plenty of work to do in the garden and a day out to the Lost Gardens of Heligan on Saturday meant we didn't have much time to be idle! The dogs have enjoyed a few walks in the woods and one to Saunton Sands, where they had a wonderful time!
Lambing was fairly successful this year, with nine youngsters in the field just now - it's not on the same scale as our neighbours, but we're happy with progress given it's only our second year! Our guests were delighted with the flock just on the other side of the fence from the cottage garden and were kind enough to leave this note - it's difficult to imagine how anyone could be more generous - about their stay in our guest book.
"What can we say?! You have thought of everything and we have had the most comfortable stay in beautiful surroundings... you are so lucky to be living here. We arrived on a beautiful Good Friday to sit in the amazing garden surrounded by daffodils and lambs! We have visited Saunton, Woolacombe, Ilfracombe and Mortehoe over the weekend. Weather turned today but we returned home and hit the woodburner, watched the rain outside and had a glass of wine. The Old George pub in the village is great, the pies fabulous and I had the best lasagne ever...the taxi service that is on your noticeboard was excellent. The bacon, bread and eggs were such a generous welcome and the hot cross buns second to none!!!! Can't say any more apart from a massive thank you and that you are doing the best job!!!"
